Childrens Books.

I've been re-reading some of the children's books that I remember from when I was a child (how obvious). And I've come to the conclusion: Children books are violent as hell.
Seriously, lets take a small list here Goosebumps, Deltora quest, Harry Potter. All of these books have many scenes where characters die in very unpleasant ways. True, the good guys always win in the end, but damn do some awful things happen to them along the way.

A character loses a finger here, finds a huge pile of skulls there, gets their face melted by sulphuric acid, I am aware that a lot of adult books have the same sort of stuff, but aren't books made for kids supposed to be um...for kids?

It seems once we're old enough to read books like Harry Potter from start to end, the authors start thinking we're old enough to deal with the death of a character we've grown attached to, ergo: Fred in Harry Potter. Or was it George...?

Eh, who cares, anyways, I might be wrong about this, maybe its just the few books I've read, feel free to argue with me, as long as you can form a nice well spelt and coherent sentence, that is.

I like to imagine that the world is one big machine.
Machines never have any extra parts.
They have the exact number and type of parts they need.
So I figure if the entire world is a big machine,
I have to be here for some reason...

Okay, a bit of info to all those people that want to comment on my...whatever this page is called...profile, whatever... >_>
I am in ninth grade, my main style of art is anime, because frankly, it rocks. =/ Nobody has taught me it, the only lesson in it I've had has been from online sites. I don't really know how to draw hands, feet or folds in clothing just yet. I'm thinking of taking an anime course sometime, if I can find one. I like drawing by hand as well, but usually I draw the head too big, it doesn't look right, and on the off-chance I draw something good, its on an already used sheet of paper. =/ Sucks to be you, Avriel person.

One more thing: Yes, these are all origional characters, all created by either me, or my two closest friends. And I only have time to draw them during my lunch periods at school, so cut me a break if the characters look like they were drawn by a retarded three year old, okay?

Have fun browsing. ^^
